How to compare any two couriers fairly
- Same chargeable weight. Couriers charge on the higher of the actual and the volumetric weight (length × width × height in cm ÷ 5000), so quote both providers for the same box.
- Same service level. Express and economy prices are not comparable; check the transit time each quote is for.
- Who pays the duty. A duty-paid (DDP) price includes the import charges; a duties-unpaid price leaves them to the recipient. See DDP vs DDU shipping.
- Pickup and drop-off. A cheaper rate with a long trip to a counter may cost you more in time.
- Tracking and support. Ask how you will know where the parcel is, and who to call if it is held at customs.
